Marjolaine Whittlesey ~ Physical Theatre

Marjolaine is an actor and educator who teaches and performs around Maine. Her love of moving on stage started in kindergarten and never waned. She discovered the world of physical theater at age sixteen during a clown intensive at the Avignon theater festival in southern France.

The next fifteen years were spent exploring and performing more naturalistic approaches to acting. For the past year Marjolaine has reconnected with the world of physical theater culminating in a two week intensive with the London International School of Performing Arts with Thomas Prattki.

She loves working in mask and was thrilled to lead a Mask and Movement workshop for SpinOff studio. Artists spent the month of October creating leather masks. During the workshop they got to explore dropping into there bodies, discovering new ways of moving in order to give their unique masks a life of their own.
